Summary

Have enjoyed listening to all the family and friends drama and loves。 The Series on Netflix was a great way to have the cast of characters now in my head。

Beautifully written 👍

Oh weer zo heerlijk! Eloise deserves a better story than this。 Sorry to Julia Quinn but I love Eloise so much and this was a terrible read for me。 I had such high hopes for this book。 You, audience, should enjoy it。

Book 5 might be my least favorite of the series。

Considering this is romance, it was very un-romantic。 It wasn’t the worst book but I was really frustrated with it because I love Eloise and she was treated so poorly with this book。 I wanted her to meet someone great in her story and instead she winds up with someone who wanted her to marry him to be a glorified babysitter。 This was my least favorite yet and it was my favorite characters book, so obviously I’m not happy。:(

Not what I expected for Eloise。 In my opinion she deserved better than this boring story with Phillip。

I had high expectations with this book, already loving Eloise's character from the previous books, but unfortunately I can't say it quite lived up to meet them。 It was a nice story, just a bit slow in terms of development and I could even say romance。 It had the potential to be a great story with Philip's tragic past, and although it had it's emotional scenes I couldn't quite feel it。 Eloise was also not what expected。 All the fire and passion I saw in her in the previous books were not quite pr I had high expectations with this book, already loving Eloise's character from the previous books, but unfortunately I can't say it quite lived up to meet them。 It was a nice story, just a bit slow in terms of development and I could even say romance。 It had the potential to be a great story with Philip's tragic past, and although it had it's emotional scenes I couldn't quite feel it。 Eloise was also not what expected。 All the fire and passion I saw in her in the previous books were not quite present here。 And Philip's behaviour towards her didn't quite sit well with me。 I got where all his reactions came from but still couldn't quite justify them。I loved the part with the 4 brothers going to their sister's rescue。 The scene was hilarious and I lol with all the Bridgerton alphas sticking to one another。 I really enjoyed the ending part but I wished it was longer。 Everything felt a bit rushed。 It left me with a smile on my face though。 Plus the little appearances of the rest of the Bridgerton family were such a nice touch and warmed my heart。 。。。more

Probably the best in the series thus far。 Nice quick read and a good break from some of the upsetting non-fiction or historical fictionreading I have been doing lately

100% my favourite so far - just as I had hoped。 Eloise is my favourite character from the Netflix series and she has been distinctly lacking in the first four books - this one definitely made up for it。 To Sir Philip, with love is Eloise’s story - at 28 and an unmarried spinster by choice, it does not seem like the love match she wished for is on the cards for her, until a letter sent to an unknown gentleman changes the path of her life forever。 What I loved about this book, more so than the pre 100% my favourite so far - just as I had hoped。 Eloise is my favourite character from the Netflix series and she has been distinctly lacking in the first four books - this one definitely made up for it。 To Sir Philip, with love is Eloise’s story - at 28 and an unmarried spinster by choice, it does not seem like the love match she wished for is on the cards for her, until a letter sent to an unknown gentleman changes the path of her life forever。 What I loved about this book, more so than the previous four, is that some really serious themes are explored pertaining to things such as mental health, suicide, grief, parenthood, isolation - it’s not just the Cinderella fairy story girl meets boy, falls in love, big house The End。 Eloise maintains her usual feminist feistiness and sharp tongue, and even managed to bring a few tears to my eyes with the very last letter in the epilogue。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Liked this one a lot less than the previous (which, obvi Penelope is my fave)。 I really didn’t love that Eloise ran off in this desperate attempt to get married after her friend did。 It just felt disingenuous to her character。 But that’s probably just me。

My quest to read all of the Bridgerton books before Season 2 of the Netflix series comes out continues。 Unfortunately this one was a bit of a disappointment, even though it focused on Eloise, my favourite of the Bridgerton siblings。 It just felt like the central love story wasn’t very compelling, largely because Phillip was totally useless and for most of the book only wanted to marry Eloise because he wanted someone to run his house and raise his kids。 The best parts were the ones that featured My quest to read all of the Bridgerton books before Season 2 of the Netflix series comes out continues。 Unfortunately this one was a bit of a disappointment, even though it focused on Eloise, my favourite of the Bridgerton siblings。 It just felt like the central love story wasn’t very compelling, largely because Phillip was totally useless and for most of the book only wanted to marry Eloise because he wanted someone to run his house and raise his kids。 The best parts were the ones that featured the wider Bridgerton family and the relationships between them, rather than focusing on the lacklustre romantic relationship。 。。。more

This was one of my favorites of the series to date。 There was enough happening in the background of the story to keep it interesting。。。。 All of these books have decent background noise but I think Eloise and Phillip's story really required a lot of growth from both lead characters。 And I think that is what the other books lacked。 While all the books took place over time I felt like the characters came out of their stories only slightly changed from their experiences and I think that is what make This was one of my favorites of the series to date。 There was enough happening in the background of the story to keep it interesting。。。。 All of these books have decent background noise but I think Eloise and Phillip's story really required a lot of growth from both lead characters。 And I think that is what the other books lacked。 While all the books took place over time I felt like the characters came out of their stories only slightly changed from their experiences and I think that is what makes this book different from the last two that fell a little flat for me。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 De toda la saga, para mí gusto, el más flojito de los #Bridgertons hasta el momento。 No logré conectar del todo con el personaje masculino y, por ende, con él y su historia con Eloise Bridgerton。 Aún así, el epílogo me pareció precioso ya que el guiño de que se futura hija adquiera el nombre de Penelope creo que es magnífico。 Amé ese detalle。

A solid offering in the Bridgerton series。 I thought at some point I would lose interest in the series or that they would become repetitive。 However, at the end of Book 5 I find I am still invested in the siblings and what life as in store for the Bridgerton clan。 The Bridgertons and the Durrells are really getting me through this phase of the pandemic!
